Blog Post 4 The Art of Getting Ready: Embracing the Journey: Preparation, Accepting Discomfort, and Transformation and the Need to Let Go.

One of my favorite terms is Preparation. I believe that when moving to the next level, you have to prepare.

Preparation requires you to act, or it is the process of getting ready or being made ready for something new.

Preparation is Doing something to get ready for results, a new opportunity, a new business, a new career, a healthy lifestyle journey, or a newfound accomplishment.

Preparation requires Planning and Getting ready for the New.

So, the purpose of this blog post is not only to inspire you, but it is also to ask - Are you Preparing for your new thing?

Preparing for the new things in your life may require you to close out some old chapters. Here is where it can become uncomfortable. You may have to leave some people and things behind. It will REQUIRE you to GET READY to clear out some STUFF so that you can prepare for the New You.

It may require you to ask yourself if your surroundings, your situations, your people, and your circle, are PUSHING you to level up, grow, build, become, and chase your dreams. If THEY ARE NOT making you stretch your view, it may be time for the uncomfortable wave goodbye to that unproductive and negative energy.

Life is too short to stay stuck in the same place, especially if that does not inspire you or cause you to think outside the box and grow. Whether it’s your love life, friendships, or career, you deserve a circle that will help you rise higher than ever before!

We all have awakening moments, you know, those instances where you realize that you need to make some adjustments and changes.

These are the moments that require you to identify:

  • What do you need to do to accomplish where you need to be?

  • How will you achieve your goal?

  • What is the outcome you are seeking?

It is time to Refocus, Rethink, Reflect, Revamp, and Reimagine.

What does this mean, you are probably asking?

Refocus: Adjust your view, thinking, and attention to something new and different.

Rethink: Change your mindset, reversing things and situations that might not be working for you. It’s time to make some decisions to break free of an earlier or previous choice and/or plan.

Reflect: Requires you to think deeply and carefully about your next moves, past decisions, and choices.

Revamp: It is to make something new; it’s like a renovation, and sometimes, we need to wipe the slate clean and make a fresh start.

Reimagine: This is the time to think about or consider your life and the bigger picture in a new and creative way. You now must form a new mental image of yourself.

Let's Refocus our thoughts towards a brighter, more uplifting perspective and outlook.

Different View

Now that we have a different view of ourselves and our circumstances, it is time to prepare and get ready for the next chapter and the new things that are coming our way.

The preparation period will become a time for you to work on...

  • Becoming your best;

  • Changing your story, if necessary;

  • Refocus on the exciting next chapter of your life and journey.

  • Learning to say No and stand firmly on your decision.

Preparation, although scary, will pay off. You will have some hiccups, and You will have to leave behind some people and non-productive things. There will be some tears shed and possibly some momentary heartache. You will question the changes. The challenges will, of course, differ for each of us, but as you move into your new place of peace, you will still be standing with a newfound joy once what appears to be a storm is over.

As I wrap up today’s blog, I count my blessings and want to leave you with this thought.

By prioritizing my self-care, working with an incredible therapist, and embracing moments of peace, I have discovered a wealth of creativity and success. Among them, is the creation of this blog. It's a testament to the power of faith.

Leaning into faith can be a game changer. Learn to accept and embrace the silence, it's the birthplace of change, creativity, and new beginnings. Trust that God has a plan, even if it's not quite in focus yet. Stay patient, stay hopeful, and prepare for some incredible things to unfold.

As we open the door to this brand-new year and month, let’s be prepared to welcome necessary changes, seize the opportunities that lie ahead, and remember, it all begins with an idea. You Got This!
